Two Mercyhurst College students were escorted off campus Monday after campus police found weapons and ammunition in their on-campus apartment.
The incident happened at about noon Monday.
The students are men and are at least 21 years old, said Laura Zirkle, the college's associate vice president for student life.
"Our residence life staff received a tip there might be weapons in a specific on-campus apartment,'' Zirkle said.
Campus police searched the apartment, found the weapons and ammunition, and confiscated them, Zirkle said.
She said both students were immediately escorted off campus.
Zirkle said having any weapons on campus is a violation of the college's conduct code.
