Bethlehem police said a 29-year-old man was robbed of his sneakers early Sunday by two men, one armed with a handgun wrapped in a plastic bag.
The robbery happened just before 1 a.m. on Morton Street, police said. During the robbery, police said three men stole the victim's size 8 blue and white Nike Air Max shoes.
The victim, 29-year-old Angelo Villamil, told police he had bought drugs in South Bethlehem and had fought with the dealer. Police are still investigating if both crimes are connected.
Villamil said while walking on Morton Street, he was "jumped" by a group of three men who took his shoes.
He told police that all three men were wearing masks, but could provide no further description.
Villamil told police that after they stole he shoes, he went into a nearby home and grabbed a baseball bat. When he confronted the group, he said one man showed the handgun.
Villamil ran to another nearby home and called police. Villamil declined medical treatment.
