The 1-month-old girl who was shot outside Carnegie Towers on Saturday remained in stable condition today at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, according to Carnegie police Chief Jeff Harbin.
Two young men, one age 20 and the other 25, also were shot and were taken to Allegheny General Hospital. Five people were taken into custody for questioning after the shooting, which Chief Harbin said was still being investigated. No one had been charged in the incident.
The victims were inside a green Buick Century in the Carnegie Towers parking lot. Shortly before 3:15 p.m., someone fired five or more bullets into it. The Buick then backed into another car, crashed through a fence, and traveled to the BP station on East Main Street. There it came to rest, and Chief Harbin said the victims were probably physically unable to drive farther.
A gun believed to be the one used in the attack was found on nearby Knox Avenue.
