A Fayette County man was jailed on Saturday after he allegedly shot another man in a dispute over money.
According to state police at Belle Vernon, David Leake, 51, of Tower Hill 2 in Luzerne Township went to the Tower Hill 2 residence of Lawrence Ewing Jr., 45, on Saturday evening.
Police said Leake asked Ewing to repay money he had allegedly borrowed from him. Inside the residence, police said, a physical altercation took place and Ewing grabbed a rifle and shot Leake in the right leg.
Ewing was arraigned before Uniontown District Judge Michael Metros on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment and harassment. He was placed in the Fayette County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bond. He faces a preliminary hearing on Monday before Redstone District Judge Michael Defino.
Leake's medical condition was unclear. Police said he faces charges of simple assault and harassment.
