One man is in custody after a shootout outside a Reading bar early Saturday morning that left another man wounded.
Police charged Raymond Garcia-Ortiz, 29, Reading with firearms violations and reckless endangerment. He was arraigned before District Judge Gail M. Greth
Garcia-Ortiz was committed to Berks County Prison on Saturday in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Police are still trying to identify others involved in the shootout.
According to police:
An argument began inside the Italian Garden in the 800 block of Penn Street just before the 2 a.m. closing time. The people involved were kicked out, but the dispute soon resumed on the street.
A member of one of the feuding groups pulled out a gun and opened fire, hitting a man in the second group once in the leg.
The injured man, Richard Gordon, name and address unavailable, was taken to Reading Hospital. Police said his injury was not life threatening.
Members of the first group returned fire, as well as people from inside the bar who ran out when they heard shooting. The members of the first group fled in a vehicle toward City Park.
Police described the scene, recorded by security cameras, as chaotic.
