Allentown police are investigating a Saturday night shooting that left a man in critical condition.
Police responded to a report of shots fired in the 600 block of Chew Street about 8:32 p.m. The first officer on the scene found a Hispanic male lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds.
Witnesses said the man had been speaking with a black male wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt who was seen running north on Church Street immediately after shots rang out, Assistant Chief Joseph Hanna said.
The victim, whose name was not released, was in critical condition Sunday, Hanna said.
