An 18-year-old Bethlehem man that police said they found drunk on a sidewalk early Sunday also faces weapon charges after officers discovered a gun in his pocket, according to court records.
Corey Jonathan Smith, of 1946 Lynnfield Drive, is charged with person not to possess a firearm, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of a firearm by a minor, possession of an instrument of crime, public drunkenness and underage drinking.
Smith is in Northampton County Prison under $25,000 bail.
According to court records:
Just before 2:30 a.m. Sunday, a Bethlehem police officers saw a man, later identified as Smith, leaning against a home at 425 Fillmore Street.
Smith's eyes were closed, he smelled of alcohol and burnt marijuana and had vomit on his pants, police said.
Police said Smith's speech was slurred and when he tried to stand up, he nearly fell down. A portable breath test showed Smith's alcohol level was 0.11 percent, police said.
Before Smith was taken to the hospital in an ambulance, an officer patted him down and found a handgun in his right pocket.
Police said there was a magazine inside the gun, but it was not loaded.
