Hazleton Standard Speaker
Shots were fired into an unoccupied car in downtown Hazleton early Thursday morning, according to city police, and hours later a business window in the area was found with a hole in it.
No injuries were reported.
The shots rang out at about 2 a.m. following an argument inside Prestigio Restaurant at North Wyoming and Green streets, police said. The car, a blue Honda Civic, was parked in the nearby Hazleton Parking Authority lot.
Police said two unidentified Hispanic males, one of them 32 years old, were involved in the incident.
Officers were back in the area later in the morning to investigate a report of vandalism to a salon's window.
The salon, Attitudes, is located at Wyoming and Spruce streets, on the opposite side of the parking lot.
Police said a hole was found in the double-pane glass window when the business opened for the day. The glass was cracked around the hole, which penetrated both sides of the glass.
Police said they are unsure if the damaged window is related to the shooting, noting no bullet or shell casing was found near the window.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call police.
