A 14-year-old boy was shot in Marietta on Friday night.
The shooting happened at 8:27 p.m. in his home in the 400 block of East Market Street, Susquehanna Regional Police Sgt. Joshua Rapp said. That is about a block south of Marietta War Memorial Park in the borough that is adjacent to the Susquehanna River.
The boy's father drove him to Lancaster General Hospital to seek treatment, Lapp said.
Hospital security then contacted police.
Rapp said the boy was hit in the arm and the chest and was stabilized before being transferred to Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. He suffered two bullet entry wounds and two exit wounds, but it is not known how many times he was shot.
His condition was not available Saturday night.
Rapp said Saturday he could not comment on the circumstances of the shooting or whether police are looking for a suspect.
The investigation is continuing.
