Three people were shot early Monday in the 800 block of Franklin Street as they were walking home from a bar, police said.
A 23-year-old woman was shot in the hand, a 24-year-old man was shot in the buttocks and a 27-year-old man was shot in the shoulder, police said.
All three were taken by ambulance to Reading Hospital. Further information on their medical conditions could not be obtained.
According to police:
The victims were walking home about 2 a.m. when a person came up to them and began shooting at them. They said they had no problems with anyone at the bar and didn't know why anyone would shoot them. They could not provide a description of the shooter.
Two policemen, who were about two blocks away, heard six shots and responded. One of the male victims tried to run from police, but was stopped by officers who arrived to help.
