MONTGOMERY COUNTY: Robber dons scarecrow garb and gun

A heavy-set man dressed in a business suit and wearing a pillow case over his head and a large straw hat held up a Montgomery County bank Friday.

Horsham Township Police Department and the FBI are seeking the public's assistance to identify and locate the robber, who displayed a handgun in a shoulder holster on his right side.

He entered Colonial American Bank at 300 Welsh Road (Route 63) in Horsham Township about 5:45 p.m. No one was injured in the robbery, but all of the bank employees were ordered to the ground while the robber took cash and fled.

The robber was estimated to be between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 11 inches tall. His race is unknown. In addition to the pillow case over his face, the robber also wore sunglasses and gloves.
