UPPER DARBY — Police are searching for a man who fled on foot after holding up a township Dunkin’ Donuts on Friday afternoon.
The armed robbery occurred about 2:10 p.m. in the 2800 block of Township Line Road. A black male with a dark complexion and medium build entered the store brandishing a handgun, according to Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood.
“He went in and demanded the money and made off with in excess of $1,500,” Chitwood said.
Wearing a white hat and dark pants, the man fled across Township Line Road into a residential neighborhood adjacent to the Llanerch Country Club, where he was last seen. Police believe there was a getaway car waiting for him there.
Chitwood said that while the Dunkin’ Donuts does not have surveillance cameras, several other businesses nearby do, and police were in the process of obtaining those tapes.
Chitwood said no one was injured during the robbery.
