A teenager was shot in the leg outside an Allentown home on late Sunday night.
The unidentified 16-year-old was shot at 11:18 p.m. outside a house on the 500 block of New Street, said Allentown police Captain Stephen Mould.
No arrests have been made, and descriptive information about the shooter was not available.
The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries, Mould said.
Others were outside with her at the time, and police do not yet know whether the shots fired were meant for her.
"We're too early into the investigation to determine who was the intended victim and whether there was any kind of motive," Mould said.
Detectives and crime scene investigators have begun to process the scene looking for evidence, Mould said.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the criminal investigation division at 610-437-7721.
