Two Allentown convenience stores were robbed over the weekend, police said.
Police were dispatched at 1:31 a.m. Saturday to the A-Plus, 2138 Hamilton St., on a report of a robbery, Capt. Keith Morris said. The clerk at the store said two men wearing all black clothing entered the store, he said.
One of the men had a shotgun and demanded money, Morris said. After getting an undetermined amount of money, the men fled south on 22nd Street.
At 10:45 p.m. Saturday, police were dispatched to the Turkey Hill, 1240 Lehigh St., on a report of another robbery. The clerk said a man wearing a red, hooded sweatshirt entered the store and asked for cigarettes, Morris said. The man then demanded money and implied he had a handgun, he said.
The robber fled south on Lehigh Street.
Morris said both robberies are under investigation. They do not appear to be related.
