BOSWELL — A Jenners man faces aggravated assault charges, accused of firing a semi-automatic into a small crowd outside a bar after being told to leave the club early Sunday.
State police in Somerset said Joseph D. Paruch, 24, fired at least three rounds alongside the Laurel Highlands Restaurant & Lounge, with a ricochet grazing one man.
Investigators said Paruch, of Middle Street, was in a fight earlier that night with bar patrons but stayed in the neighborhood, circling around the bar in his car, eventually getting into a verbal altercation with a group in the bar’s Hower Avenue parking lot, which prompted him to brandish the weapon and fire several times before fleeing the scene.
Ronald Kalina Jr. of North Main Street, Davidsville, received a minor flesh wound from a deflected round but did not require medical attention, police added.
Paruch was initially lodged in Somerset County Jail but was released Sunday afternoon after posting $3,000 bond, a prison official said.
