An Easton man has been charged with threatening people with a handgun during an argument Tuesday, according to court records.
Jason Allen Hein, 28, made the threat during an argument with two people in the 600 block of Ferry Street, police say in court documents.
Police responded about 7 p.m. Tuesday for a report that a man, later identified as Hein, had shown a gun and run away. Leon Torres and Heather Barr told officers Hein pulled up his shirt to show a handgun in his waistband, according to police.
Police found Hein nearby and, as they brought him into custody, a handgun with a round in the chamber and a loaded magazine fell out of his waistband, according to court records. Hein also was in possession of a marijuana joint, records say.
A database search revealed Hein does not have a license to carry a firearm, records say.
Hein, of the 100 block of Bushkill Street, is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, simple assault, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and possession of a small amount of marijuana. He was arraigned before District Judge Douglas Schlegel and sent to the Northampton County Prison in lieu of $30,000 bail with a 10 percent option.
