MILLBOURNE — One of the three alleged gunmen who entered an occupied residence and stole a laptop was captured after a foot pursuit.
Lex Bumpess, 21, of the 2000 block of South 67th Street, Philadelphia, allegedly fired a shot at the victim who chased him and the other intruders out of the apartment shortly before midnight June 26.
“Upper Darby police caught the guy climbing on a 12-foot high fence,” Millbourne Officer Joel Belsky said. “We got the gun and recovered the laptop.”
According to the affidavit prepared by Patrolman Nick Criscillo, police were dispatched to an apartment on the 6400 block of Market Street for a reported robbery.
“Victim No. 1 stated she was in the bathroom when she heard a noise coming from the bedroom area,” Criscillo wrote. “She saw at least two males with hand guns and called out to victim two that someone was in the home. Victim two did chase after three males to the dead end of Burd Avenue.”
That’s when Bumpess allegedly fired a shot at victim two.
Bumpess was arraigned on charged of criminal attempt homicide, aggravated assault, robbery, burglary and firearms not to be carried without a license.
He was detained at the county prison in lieu of posting $100,000 cash bail pending a preliminary hearing July 2 in district court.
