An Allegheny County Judge today sentenced a West Mifflin man to 40 to 80 years in jail for fatally shooting a woman inside her Mon View Heights apartment.
Taylor Corey West, 24, pleaded guilty to general homicide charges, and Allegheny County Common Pleas Judge Jill E. Rangos found him guilty of third-degree murder. She sentenced him immediately.
Prosecutors said West was high on synthetic marijuana in October 31, 2010 when he fatally shot Selena Roberts, 40, after she confronted West and other men inside her apartment about making too much noise.
Police said West punched Roberts and then shot her in the face, shoulder and back. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
