BROOKFIELD — A Sharon man was injured after shots were fired in a Masury bar’s parking lot early Saturday morning.
Brookfield Police Chief Dan Faustino said Dana Borders, 30, Sharon, suffered a non-life-threatening wound after a burst of gunfire at 2:33 a.m. outside Rock A Billie’s bar, 759 Brookfield Ave.
Borders was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown. He was treated and then taken to Trumbull County Jail because he was wanted on an unrelated warrant.
Jail officials said Saturday the warrant stemmed from an earlier driving under suspension charge.
Faustino said Saturday afternoon no arrests had been made. An off-duty Brookfield patrolman was inside the bar, working as a security guard, at the time of the incident. He heard the gunfire and came outside, Faustino said.
According to a news release the chief issued, “Several rounds and shell casings were recovered in the parking lot.”
As many as four vehicles were hit by gunfire, including one that was occupied at the time, Faustino said.
Police impounded one vehicle from the scene, though the chief, who wasn’t among the officers to respond to the call, said he wasn’t sure who owned that vehicle.
