DARBY BOROUGH —- A 19-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the stomach Tuesday afternoon in the first block of North Third Street, according to police.
The shooting occurred at 2:01 p.m., and paramedics transported the man to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Police Chief Robert Smythe said that detectives were with the man and that his condition was unknown.
Police described the suspect in the shooting as a black male who may have fled the scene in a black Jeep with a soft, black top. Smythe said detectives are interviewing several people who may have witnessed the shooting.
At press time, Smythe said investigators had developed some leads.
