Weekend shootings left three people dead and three others injured, Philadelphia police said Sunday.
Shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday, a 28-year-old man was shot several times in the head as he sat in a minivan parked on the 2500 block of South Sartain Street in South Philadelphia, police said.
He was pronounced dead at 7:07 p.m. at Temple University Hospital.
A 37-year-old man who was found shot several times on the 2700 block of Vare Avenue in Southbrook Park was pronounced dead at Hahnemann University Hospital at 10:40 p.m. Saturday.
Shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday, police found a 22-year-old man in a home on the 1500 block of Federal Street in Point Breeze with gunshot wounds to his left side and upper right back. He was pronounced dead at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital around 2:34 a.m.
Police have not released the names of the victims or identified possible motives. No arrests have been made in any of the fatal shootings.
The wounded victims included a 30-year-old man who was shot in the right hip around 12:50 a.m. Sunday on the 4900 block of North Broad Street in the Logan section. He was taken to Einstein Medical Center, where he was in stable condition.
A second victim with a gunshot wound to the right arm was taken to Einstein, where he was also listed in stable condition.
A sixth victim was shot in the groin and buttocks on the 1200 block of West Cumberland Street around 3:15 a.m. Sunday in the Hartranft section. He was taken to Temple University Hospital, where police said he was in critical condition.
