A man was shot to death Friday afternoon on Easton's South Side, and police were trying to track down two men seen running shortly after the killing, the Northampton County coroner said.
Officers reported finding the fatally wounded man about 5:40 p.m. at St. Joseph Street, near St. John Street, Coroner Zachary Lysek said. Lysek pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Police taped off a parking lot near Chuck's Food & Beer Store while they examined the body and collected evidence. Officers also investigated reports that the shooting happened a few blocks south of St. Joseph Street.
The victim was not identified publicly.
"The name is not going to be released until we can confirm the identity and notify next of kin," Lysek said.
