A 23-year-old Lebanon man was shot after he came out of a store on Lehman Street at Fifth Street just before 1 p.m. Sunday. Police have not identified the victim.
City police said they were dispatched to the area for a report of shots fired at 12:56 p.m. Witnesses told police they saw a red vehicle leaving the scene. Initially, police could not find any victims or evidence that a shooting had occurred. Further investigation determined that the victim had parked his vehicle on Lehman Street at Fifth Street, entered a store on the southwest corner of the street and then returned to his vehicle.
Police said another man approached the victim's vehicle from the passenger side and fired a gun into the vehicle, striking the victim in the face. A woman passenger was in the front seat of the vehicle but was not hurt, police said.
Police said the victim then drove himself to the hospital.
