A man with a pistol robbed a Reading barber and a customer who was in his shop getting a haircut, police said Sunday.

The gunman took an undetermined amount of cash in the holdup Saturday at the Against the Grain Barber Shop, 143 N. 10th St., Sgt. John M. Solecki said.

The barber was giving a man a haircut when the robber entered the shop at 6:40 p.m. and pointed a pistol at them, Solecki said.

The gunman told the barber to put his hands up and give him everything in the shop. The barber grabbed an undetermined amount of cash and placed it on the counter for the robber.

The robber then pointed the gun at the customer, who claimed he didn't have any money.

"Don't lie or I'll pop you," the robber told him.
