THIS IS THE
Background Checks for Every Gun Sale
Background checks save lives by keeping guns out of the hands of those who should not have them. We want to close the loopholes that allow criminals, the mentally ill and domestic abusers to buy guns without background checks.
Protecting Women from Violence
Domestic abusers should never have access to guns. Over 30% of women murdered in the US are killed by an intimate partner.1 We want to make sure people who pose a threat are barred from accessing guns.
Our Schools Should be Places of Learning, Not Fear
On the first day of school, our kids’ biggest worries should be what to wear and who to sit with at lunch. They shouldn’t have to worry about finding the route that is least likely to get caught in cross-fire. They shouldn’t have to worry that a school yard argument could turn deadly.
Keeping Our Children Safe
Too often, kids find guns in their own homes, or in the homes of friends. Curiosity overcomes good judgment, and tragedy results. These “accidents” are almost totally preventable. We want strong child access prevention policies to protect our kids, incentivize responsible adult behavior and punish reckless and negligent behavior.
Our Voices are Heard, Our Demands are Answered, Our Vision is Realized
We know that the vast majority — some polls say more than 90% — of Americans want commonsense gun laws to keep our families and communities safe. We’ve been told we’re the silent majority. Not any more. We’re going to keep making ourselves heard, and with your help, our leaders will be forced to listen.
