Congress Ignored Us
Three weeks ago Congress passed H.R. 822, a deadly bill which would force Pennsylvania to accept concealed carry permits from every other state in the country - even states that don't have the same standards as our own.
State and national law enforcement oppose the bill. Prosecutors and sheriffs oppose the bill. Hundreds of Pennsylvania mayors and faith leaders oppose the bill. But when it came time to cast their votes, 15 of Pennsylvania's 19 members of Congress voted for it.
Why?
Now two of the leading voices against gun violence in Pennsylvania are asking "Why?" Mary Beth is a mother whose baby son was killed by a stray bullet fired by a felon with an illegal gun. Chief Carroll was president of the International Association of Chiefs of Police. Together they have one question to ask:
"What about our rights?"

If these Congressmen weren't listening to law enforcement experts and they weren't listening to their constituents - who were they listening to?
We still have a chance to stop this deadly bill from becoming law. Any day now the U.S. Senate will consider the proposal. Use the form below to send Senator Casey and Senator Toomey a message. Congress already let us down, but it is not too late for our Senators to take a stand against gun violence and to protect Pennsylvania's constitutional right to set our its state laws.
