Gun violence is an epidemic in Philadelphia.
In the first few weeks of the new year, more than twenty people were shot and killed on the streets of our city. Headlines asked the terrifying question:
Together, we're taking a stand against gun violence and answering "NO!" But without leadership from our government officials, we won't get very far.
That's why it is essential that Mayor Nutter knows we support his latest commitment to crack down on illegal guns in Philadelphia. Mayor Nutter has been a strong voice for reform to reduce gun violence in Washington and in Harrisburg, now it's time to focus on Philadelphia - and get the illegal guns off the street.
Let’s tell him that if he takes strong action to prevent gun violence, we’ll be right by his side. Send a message to Mayor Nutter. Tell him we will stand with him in the fight against gun violence.
We will deliver the final letter to him personally so he knows that we want him to continue the fight.

On Martin Luther King Day you said, "The fabric of our human nature is being ripped apart piece by piece... And what happens? You don't have a fabric at some point."
