The House returns to Harrisburg on Monday and they are set to vote on HB 1243 and send it to the Senate. This is the bill that creates special standing for individuals and groups like the NRA to sue towns as punishment for trying to protect their communities. We must block this dangerous bill from moving through the Senate.

Can you take a moment and call the Senate leaders who help set the agenda? We must let them know we want them focused on making PA safer and stronger, and tell them this is not the kind of issue we want them spending their limited time on.

Senate Majority Leader Dominic Pileggi, (717) 787-4712

Here’s a sample script:

Hi, I want the Senator to know that I’m concerned about a bill the House is sending to the Senate. HB 1243 has been poisoned by a recent amendment that creates special standing for individuals and groups like the NRA to sue our towns and cities. This is bad policy, and I hope the Senator will make sure that it does not advance in the Senate.

Thanks. And if you have an extra moment, let us know how the calls went!
