CeaseFirePA wants to thank you for all you do as you take a stand against gun violence. We are grateful for your generous donations — through which we met our challenge grant. We appreciate the time and energy you take to sign petitions, write and call your legislators and stand with us during rallies and demonstrations. And we are so thankful for your ongoing belief that together we will win this fight. We know this is a marathon, not a sprint, and we are so grateful you are on our team. As we enter 2014, CeaseFirePA commits to each of you to continue to build, to work and to fight.
This Wednesday marks three years since the shooting in Tuscon, AZ during which six were killed and 14 wounded, including Congresswoman Gabby Giffords. It is shameful that Rep. Giffords’ colleagues — at the federal level and in the state legislatures as well — have failed to take action to make us safer.
But you have made a commitment to continue to demand action. And we take that commitment seriously and will honor it with our own ongoing pledge to work every day to reduce gun violence, keep guns out of the hands of those who should not have them, and make our communities safer.
