Former first lady and possible 2016 presidential candidate Hilary Clinton waded into the topic of guns during a speech in Maryland this Tuesday, saying that gun rights are “way out of balance” in the U.S. She did say, however, that she believed that an approach that would reduce the number of guns in America would not conflict with the rights of people to own firearms.

“I think again we’re way out of balance. I think that we’ve got to rein in what has become an almost article of faith that anybody can have a gun anywhere, anytime,” Clinton said. “And I don’t believe that is in the best interest of the vast majority of people. And I think you can say that and still support the right of people to own guns.”
