A letter from Mt. Lebanon resident Melanie Austin expresses disgust and dismay at the bill in Congress that, if passed, would “override [Pennsylvania’s] carefully considered public safety standards and force our state to recognize concealed carry permits from every other state — including states that issue permits to teenagers, people with dangerous histories, even to criminals with recent violent convictions.”

Two-thirds of the United States, including Pennsylvania, refuse to recognize some or all out-of-state concealed carry permits. Pennsylvania does not recognize permits from nineteen states.
