After the shooting spree that took place at a Colorado Planned Parenthood clinic, gun violence is again a subject of much debate. While the investigation into this particular case has just begun, what we know for certain is that the factor common to all instances of gun violence is easy access to firearms, writes The Washington Post‘s Editorial Board.

“Nearly 300 people are shot every day in the United States in murders, assaults, attempted and successful suicides, and unintentional shootings. The numbers are so appalling that they become numbing. Easy access to guns is a major threat to U.S. public health.”
