Yesterday, the Senate Judiciary Committee voted on a good bill related to the criminal penalties for retaliation against witnesses. But at the last minute, an amendment to allow guns in parking lots was added onto the bill, and the Committee voted for the bill with that amendment. That means this bill can now be brought to the Senate Floor for a full vote.
We need you to call or write your state senator TODAY and tell him or her not to stand for these underhanded tactics that tack unrelated matters onto good bills. Ask your Senator not to vote for HB 827 unless and until the language requiring private employers to allow guns in their parking lots is removed.
Harrisburg should be hard at work passing a budget right now and focusing on the real priorities of Pennsylvanians. Forcing employers to let their employees keep guns in their cars does not make us safer.
