READING, PA -Project Peace was founded by students at Reading High School, reacting to the gun murders of four of their classmates in one school year. The student lead organization has rallied in support of national efforts to reduce gun violence, but also focuses on more direct local initiatives including seminars on conflict resolution, visiting middle schools to discuss the mission of Project Peace with younger students, and promoting the City of Reading’s new anti-violence tip line.

From the organizers: “We are students from Reading High School who came together to form a new kind of family; a family aiming to stop violence in our school and in our community.  We are looking for brothers and sisters to build up our family to make our community a safe and enjoyable positive place.”
