Cookies

A “cookie” is a small file assigning you a unique ID that is placed on your computer by a web server. Our pages use cookies within our action pages in order to identify the action taker and make it easier to take action. We may also from time to time use cookies on the homepage so that frequent visitors are not presented a pop-up window each time they visit. Users can personalize their browser settings to reject cookies.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Google Analytics

We use a tool called “Google Analytics” to collect information about use of this site. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit this site, what pages they visit when they do so, and what other sites they used prior to coming to this site. We use the information we get from Google Analytics only to improve this site. Google Analytics collects only the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit this site, rather than your name or other identifying information. We do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with personally identifiable information. Although Google Analytics plants a permanent cookie on your web browser to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit this site, the cookie cannot be used by anyone but Google. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to this site is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use and the Google Privacy Policy. You can prevent Google Analytics from recognizing you on return visits to this site by disabling cookies on your browser.

How we protect your data

Site Monitoring

For site security purposes this website employs a software program to monitor network traffic and security exploits.

Data Storage and Security

The data we gather from users who take action or donate  is stored on our provider Salsa’s servers, and the same security measures protect users’ data as protect their own internal data.  They use industry-standard methods to protect the confidentiality and integrity of your personal information. While there is no such thing as “perfect security” anywhere on the Internet, we protect your data just as we protect our own. Furthermore, access to personal data is restricted within the organization and company, and all employees are aware that personal data is private.
