This weekend in America, at least 80 people were killed and 150 were wounded by gunfire — a rate of more than one fatality per hour. In Kalamazoo, MI, late Saturday night, a man went on a shooting rampage that killed 6 and injured 2. This was called a random shooting.

But we know that our gun violence problem is not random. It has identifiable causes, and we know how to solve it.

We know that keeping guns out of the hands of people who should not have them keeps us all safer. We know that more guns lead to more gun deaths. And we know that the gun lobby’s agenda of guns for anyone, anytime, anywhere does not make us safer.

Help spread the word that gun violence is not random. We can solve this problem — we know how to do it, we just need leaders who share our commitment and our will.
